13Hands releases single, “State of Affairs – Make America Aligned Again” to a socially and politically divided USA
Montclair, NJ – 9th October, 2018 – This is part 1 of a 4 part song that was adapted from a 10 page essay Dalien wrote this past summer in a remote cabin in the mountains of Pennsylvania. It is a direct, witty, sincere and layered exploration of the current socio-economic, political climate in America while suggesting some ideas and solutions for all of us to reflect upon.
It’s lyrically inspired by the 60’s/70‘s folk music era channeling an Arlo Guthrie’s “Alice’s Restaurant” meets Don McLean’s “American Pie” with a Counting Crows meets traditional, Irish sing-along pub song. It is a heartfelt, insightful song that asks our President some very direct questions, addresses some ideas with the coal industry and this installment ends with a plea for community through an emotionally inspiring finale/gang vocal chorus to incite us to come together in hopes of building a better tomorrow, united as Americans.
