February 19, 2020 – Jessie Sims has a figure that was made for Instagram and social media. Her over 2 million fans will nod in agreement, but Jessie’s true journey, what attracted her to create her first Instagram profile, and her long-term dreams are a good story to hear by the fireside.

Jessie was born in Wales, UK, and moved to Maine, USA when she was only 12. Like an ordinary girl, she went to college to pursue nursing (today she would be anyone’s dream nurse, but that’s a different story), dropped out and began to pursue modeling.

There was also gymnastics, that played a role in her Instagram journey. Jessie was a professional gymnast, dedicating six years to the sport, and competed in the Miss Maine United States Pageant and was crowned the 1st runner up. After quitting competitions, she continued with the All-Star Cheerleading for many years, and also took up coaching. Throughout all these years in Maine, she did bartending, interned for a surgical technician role, and did her regular modeling gigs driving to Boston.

But one day, she got fired from the gymnastics coaching job all due to an Instagram post she had posted. Since this had not been discussed during the hiring process, Jessie decided to let go of the job and began to focus her efforts on social media.

Another impetus for her social media venture came from her modeling days. Starting in 2014, she was busy working for agencies like New England Models, Model Club Inc. and True Model Management. She also acted in music videos and short films, before moving to Los Angeles in 2016. It was now that she was repeatedly asked at casting interviews – “How many Instagram followers do you have?”

Jessie’s journey on Instagram itself has been a challenging ride. Her account has been wrongfully shut down many times, and she got extorted for thousands of dollars to reinstate the account, only to have it taken down several times again. She has rebranded her content many times and that did not please her fans. Jessie thought of quitting many times, but kept going on.

When asked to describe herself, she calls herself “the girl who chugs large amounts of alcohol, pulls pranks on her friends, family and the unsuspecting public. I’m the girl who will put frat guys to shame at a college party. A social media influencer with almost 2M followers across all platforms.”

Jessie Sims’ long term goals are to make enough money to support herself and her parents, prove the doubters wrong, go back to traditional modeling and acting while continuing with social media, travel the world, live life to the fullest, document it all, and have a reality show.
