New York, United States – May 17, 2021 – Braata Productions, a non-profit organization that brings the Caribbean folk culture, music, theatre, and entertainment to the United States proudly announces the upcoming 7th edition of the Bankra Caribbean Culture Festival. The event will be hosted online on Saturday, 5th June 2021 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm EST.

Bankra Caribbean Culture Festival is an annual event that celebrates the rich culture and tradition of the Caribbean. It is a one-day festival which until last year usually took place on the lush grounds of St. Albans Park in Southeast Queens. The social distancing guidelines which were introduced because of the outbreak of Covid-19 made the event be held online for the first time in the year 2020. The festival is dedicated to showcasing Caribbean culture, history, lifestyle, traditions, and customs, through folk music, arts, and theatre. This year’s event is set to feature a live performance from Shurwayne Winchester and many other artists and entertainers. Other activities to enjoy in the festival includes arts and crafts, storytelling, and panel discussions.

“It is commendable to know that last year’s online edition of the festival was our first virtual edition and we were excited with the success of the event. This year’s festival will also be virtual and it promises to be equally amazing”, said the company’s Executive Director. “Our mission is to bring Caribbean folk culture, artists, music, stories, movement, and theatre into prominent spaces while also achieving greater recognition for our various art forms. We are glad as a company because we can make the difference even in a time social distancing guidelines still being observed in the city”, he added.

The Bankra Caribbean Culture Festival is an event that has evolved into a major event with more people of diverse cultures showing keen interest in the festival. The event has showcased the talents of the Caribbean to the world in the last few years and Braata Productions have successfully sold the beauty of the art and culture of the Caribbean to the world with the event.
